If you are visiting the region and are staying in Christchurch or the wider Canterbury area we would be happy to collect you as part of our service.
Travel time to the fishing/training location would be between 0.5 – 1 hour when departing from Christchurch city.
For the full day trip you could expect around 5 hours of on the river fishing/training and a sheltered indoor location could be sort out if unfavorable weather is encountered on the booked day.
Prices are current for the 2023/2024 fishing season. The prices are listed in New Zealand (NZ) dollars.
The "Back to Basics" package is designed as a purely educational package option and although it may be possible to attempt to catch some trout as part of the day, it is not a guided fishing day, hence the cheaper pricing structure. Please note that we consistently practice "Catch and Release" (refer "Key Fishing Information")

This package is ideal as a gift for a loved one who has interest in learning how to fish or for those with young families looking for a special way to introduce their children to the world of fly fishing. The personalized training experience quickly teaches how it’s all done providing many beneficial hints and tips that will enhance any fly fishing experience. (Educational Package Option)
This is designed as a learning tool capable of training a complete beginner, novice or simply someone wanting to brush up their skills on how to fly fish in New Zealand. The personalised training experience also makes an ideal gift for a loved one who has interest in learning how to fish and who wants to quickly learn how it’s all done accompanied by many of the beneficial hints and tips that will enhance their fly fishing experience.
There are a variety of package options available, from a single 2 hour one-on-one session, a group training exercise or a half or full day training session, involving a door to door pick-up, a trip to a local river or stream, walking through different casting techniques, instruction on New Zealand invertebrate / insect fauna, fly selection and presentation, knot tying and rigs, targeting browns and rainbow’s in lakes, rivers and streams, river crossing, handy presentation casts, selecting likely trout waters due to stability, food supply and other factors.
A few hints on some great fishing locations to visit will also be provided.
