Our in-depth knowledge of the area, weather and water conditions means that if one of our standard packages isn’t exactly what you are looking for, we can structure a package to meet your specific requirements.
Location
Our geographical location means we can take advantage of the best weather available on either the East or West Coast, and it opens up a wide variety of water types. Years of fishing here, and a love of the hunt, have let me find a lot of the lesser known nooks and crannies on both coasts, and to build relationships with land owners who allow me access to their private land.
The East Coast water I generally guide spans from the upper Wairau River in the north down to the Benmore and Omarama area in the south. On the West Coast I fish from Haast in the south up to Karamea in the north, on longer trips or when the weather dictates.
Christchurch is ideally placed for the South Island’s highly variable weather. Arthur’s Pass and the Lewis Pass give easy, scenic access through the Southern Alps to the wild West Coast, where there is often shelter from an unsettled pattern in the east. That means we can make the most of both coasts, and you get to fish a wide range of water: free-stone rivers, streams, spring creeks, coastal lagoons and pristine lakes of all sizes. Many of these waters hold good numbers of trout. It is possible to sight fish for large brown and rainbow trout, most commonly 2.5 to 7 lb (1.25 to 3.3 kg), and occasionally for fish up to and over the magic 10 lb (4.5 kg) trophy mark.

Add a Little Something Kiwi to your Experience
As some of the areas we fish are located near to many uniquely New Zealand ‘non-trout’ related activities, detours can be added to the trip to enhance the kiwi experience. Just send us an email or give us a call and we can help you start the planning of your kiwi fishing adventure with us.
